You go to Mykonos for sunshine, party, great people and amazing food. So for the sunshine there are numerous beaches, all with their specific crowd, atmosphere and tunes. Let me give you some guidance where to find what. Btw you will need your own transport!
Kalo Livadi beach – if you want space and a family friendly beach go to Kalo Livadi beach. The beach stretches for about 1 km and has several beach clubs. Your sun bed, umbrella and food are affordable. I stayed at Monarch which plays some tunes in the afternoon, has good sun beds and you have that bit of space you want on a generally crowded beach. And it f you feel like it, get a massage for about 30 euros from one of the lovely thai ladies.
Paraga beach – is it Thursday or Sunday and you are planning your afternoon dinner or drinks at Scorpios, then Paraga beach is the place to go. Damis will have some lovely sun beds for you to chill. And if you are able to stand the loud Italian crowd than this is another perfect beach.
Super Paradise beach – it’s Paradise Beach’s little brother set in a bay. It is crowded with beach clubs back to back, but here you will avoid the young teenage crowd you will find at Paradise beach. As there are often super windy days in Mykonons, consider this one as the beach to go at these days, as it is a pebble beach, so you won’t get sandblasted. We crashed at Pinky Beach club with a lovely mixed gay and hetero crowd. The food is wonderful although more expensive than at Kalo Livadi, it’s worth it though. This is also where you will find Jackie O’ beach club, famous for its gay scene and the beach club equivalent of the in town party place.
Psarou beach – set in another lovely bay and perfectly hidden from the winds where Mykonos is known for you will find Psarou Beach. It is also a perfect beach to chill before you walk on from here to Nammos where you can join in for an afternoon/sunset party with your feet in the sand.
Panormos beach – the white theme gives a lovely feel to the beach club here. You will need to like lying down on the beach cushions that serve as sun beds. The water is lovely and as see through as it can get. Lounge music to chill and a lovely crowd surrounding you. Clearly enough reasons to go there and enjoy a great beach day.
plus 1 Agia Anna beach – imagine you are done with the crazy crowds, hip music in the background, over-designed beach clubs, then you go to Agia Anna beach. On the other side of the island in Kalafati you will get to Agia Anna beach, as if you are the first to discover. You will see locals and families, and no problem to get your front row sun beds. And for sure you can handle the Iglesias, and Sinatra tunes in the background….
